Open Face Helmets
Jet helmets
In case of a spill you rarely hit the ground precisely on top of your helmet. The Itaöian company AGV therefore launched the first jet helmet on the market in 1956 as an improvement on the half-shell helmets that had been common until then. These AGV helmets had the rear and the side sections enlarged to inlcude the back of the head, ears and cheeks into the helmet shell. Other helmet manufacturers such as Bell and Davida quickly followed suit. Because the helmets were similar to what jet pilots wore at the time, the new helmet shape quickly spread under the name jet helmet, even though these helmets had certainly never seen the inside of an airplane cockpit. Among our classic jet helmets are helmets from Bandit or Laboratori 70 (70's) - which brings us back to Italy.
